All Star Tournaments 9-10 Clarence Boyd The Dillsburg 9-10 Boyd team played their 4 DE game, 6th game overall and won 16 -13 beating Spring Grove in Carlilse. Spring Grove jumped on our boys early taking a 13 - 3 lead after 3 innings. But the Dillsburg boys fought back tying the game in the bottom of the 4th. Dillsburg scored 3 more runs in the bottom of the 5th to close out the night. Highlights for the night. Dan Leitholf's pitching performance shut down the Spring Grove hitters. While Will Ishler and Cameron Kearns closed out the night. Strong hitting from Luke Horvath lead the way. Luke went 4 for 5 Wednesday and 4 for 4 tonight. Cameron Kearns went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's. Kirk Patti went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's. Zachary Dunlap was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI's. We play South Hanover Saturday at 11:00 in Carlisle. One win away from the Championship Game against Greencastle. 11-12 Clarence Boyd Clarence Boyd Championship Dillsburg vs Carlisle
First inning Cort was on the hill and shut down the Carlisle offense facing four batters. In the bottom of the first Dillsburg wasted no time getting the bats going with hits from Nate, Visili and Evan with bases loaded 2 outs Cort hit a double scoring our first two runs, Dylan reached on a error and Collin had a clutch hit scoring Evan and Cort. With a four run lead Cort settled in keeping the high powered Carlisle offense at bay. Luke started the second with a base hit and ended up scoring our fifth run. That was all we needed as Cort took control and retired batter after batter. Carlisle got a two runs in the fifth after a few miscues from our defense. In the sixth Carlisle Started the inning with a one run homer but it was to little to late as Cort and our defense shut them down and Nate sealed the deal catching a pop fly in center to end the game. Final 5 to 3. Congratulations to all the boys they played as a team and are bringing home a Championship Banner to Dillsburg. We finished in time to go over and watch our 7-8 year old Boyd team win their own Championship Banner Congrats to them. I would like to personally thank all the parents grandparents and fans for all their support during this tournament Also thanks to Dave Albert, Lenny McLaughlin, and Kay Kula.
