9-10 State Team starts off with a win!

Congratulations to the 9 & 10 All Stars as they began pool play with a 5-1 victory over Newville Wednesday night.  Newville jumped on top with 1 run in the top of the first.  Dillsburg promptly answered with 5 runs in the bottom of the inning with 5 hits and a walk. Dillon Hippensteel, Scott Leitholf, Jack Walsh and Kyle Goss each had singles in the inning. The big hit being a triple by Jonny Heller. Jonny then scored the 5th run of the inning on a hard hit sacrifice fly to centerfield by Collin Eisenhart. The game then became a pitchers duel the rest of the way as Dillsburg's Curtis Robison gave up only 1 hit to the first batter of the game to go along with 8 k's through 4 innings. In the top of the 5th, the skies opened up and the rains came causing the game to be called and giving our All Stars the 5-1 victory. Great team effort!

Tournament Volunteers Needed!

For those that have volunteered thus far for duties during the tournament, thanks so much. Unfortunately, there are still plenty of openings that need addressed. But we may need more dedication to helping out that we could use you on multiple nights, even nights that your child is not playing. So if you can add another night to your schedule, it would help tremendously.

For those who do not have kids playing, I implore you to consider helping just one night. It does not matter that your child does not even play in the Minors division. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are down to crunch time when the first game being played is Wednesday. Please, review the sign-up sheet posted on the website. Simply check which duty on whatever night that is available which suits you and submit your name (minimum required) and email for confirmation and reminders. Then show up! That's it.
Here is the link.

I understand how some people can be so busy that even coming to their child's games can be a difficult thing to do. But it is difficult to justify hosting these tournaments if it is a continuous struggle to get help for just a few nights. Hosting the games is important to our league because it means home field advantage and less travel to games. Any chance we can have to save gas is a plus. But it takes volunteers. There are some board members who volunteer time and don't even have children playing anymore. We all need to join in and help keep these tournaments local. Will you help?

If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to call me. Thanks for your help and understanding.
